Providing Culinary Leadership
Under the leadership of Executive Chef Serge Belair and Executive Pastry Chef Jason Wang, the Edmonton Convention Centre works directly with 13 local growers and producers, injecting nearly $600,000 back in to the local economy. As a responsible leader, the venue partners with the Edmonton Food Bank to donate 2,312 kg of excess meals to the Edmonton Food Bank’s Second Helping Program in 2023. With one of Canada’s busiest and largest commercial kitchens, the culinary team of 9 Red Seal chefs and 30 cooks welcomes the opportunity to present farm-to-table fine dining on every plate.

• In 2023, Executive Chef Serge Belair was recognized as one of Canada’s top three chefs winning a bronze medal at the 2023 Canadian Culinary Championship

• Executive Pastry Chef Jason Wang represented the Canadian National Team at the IKA Culinary Olympics winning Gold in the Restaurant of Nations Category and Silver in the Chef’s Table category in 2023

• In 2023, Sous Chef Francis Derick Flores competed nationally and internationally winning gold medals at The Global Chef Challenge – Americas Regional Semi-Final in Chile and the National Senior Chefs Culinary Challenge in Niagara, Canada

Largest Building-Integrated Solar Installation
Recognized as an industry leader for its sustainability program, the Edmonton Convention Centre recently underwent the largest building-integrated photovoltaic (solar cell) installation in Canada as part of their long-term sustainability initiative.
